Episode 232 - Chris Pratt Does Everybody!

Does Chris Pratt do voiceover work for you?  It seems to be his new niche as he is slated to voice Mario, everyone's favorite plumber, as well as Garfield the cat.  Jeff gets excited because he shares a connection with Garfield, as creator Jim Davis is from the same home town as Jeff.  Also, Jeff likes lasagna!  But seriously, why is old Starlord being picked to voice every character in Hollywood?

We then get into a good discussion as to whether Captain Marvel can take Wonder Woman in a fight.  We're kind of split, and good points are brought up such as Wonder Woman might be better suited to fight Thor.  Who do you think will win in a battle between to two warrior women?

Episode 231 - Abuela Jane

Welcome to Episode 231 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Jake and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

What a special episode we have in store for you!!  OG (Original Geek) Chris Baker comes back to us, along with long-time Geek Carlos Madrid.  We start off talking HBO shows, previously on DCU.  Both Titans and Doom Patrol have been strong, with Titans concluding their season.  Tim is being taken under Dick's wing to become a Titan, Conner is getting some resolve with blackfire, and Jason Todd will move on.  Doom Patrol is always a favorite, both as a comic and a show!  They are doing some cool things with a decent budget, by the looks of it.

Baker talks Trek for a bit, especially pumping up Lower Decks which is an animated Star Trek story.  Sounds like a fun, and funny premise and should be checked out by Trekkies.  We also learn about a show called Champaign Ill which sounds like a fun show.  What new shows are you watching?

Episode 230 - He Got His Krypt On

The Geeks are joined by Geek Reese Jenniges to discuss all kinds of things!  We start off with talking about a possible Hulk movie, and jump into Shang Chi.  All the movies are being pushed back in the next year or two so we gotta get what we can while we can!

The end of the Titans current season is upon us!  Again, will Jason find redemption?  WTF is Connor doing and is he going bad?  Its been a fun season and it came out strong.  Let's hope it ends that way as well.

Harrison Ford came up, and its been so long, I can't remember why I wrote his name.  We definitely talked about his movies and which is currently our favorite.  One that never gets mentioned is Regarding Henry, about a shitty lawyer that has a traumatic brain event and has to relearn everything.  What's your favorite Ford movie?

Episode 228 - You Just Got Watched!

Welcome to Episode 228 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

It's hard not to talk about Titans because it's great!  They are starting to develop each of the characters, giving them the necessary depth and abilities that they deserve.  Will they stop The Red Hood and Scarecrow?  Will Beast Boy finally change into another animal other than the Tiger?  Doom Patrol is still a thing and we also talk a bit about it, mostly to show love for Brendan Fraser. What's your favorite Brendan Fraser film?

Black Widow settled her lawsuit with Disney which is nice for everyone.  Maybe we will see her again in the MCU?  Probably don't hold your breath.  What if...? is close to it's end and this last episode shows if Ultron had transferred himself to Vision.  He interacts with The Watchmen, which could set up an interesting future for the MCU.

Episode 227 - He‘s Undead to Us!

Welcome to Episode 227 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Jeff Albright, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

What if...? on Disney is first on the docket.  It has some strengths, but up until this point it is a mixed bag.  It's great to hear the original voices for many of the characters we know and love, but the stories have been a little weak.  Hopefully they will finish strong on this show.  

Titans!  This show keeps packing the punches, and it gives us a little insight into the Dick & Barbara history, where they were both acting like thieves breaking into banks and vaults.  I guess its little surprise, after all Dick WAS Robbin!  We also got to see a slightly different side of the show, as we got to see some frontal nudity when Jason went for therapy from 2 performers at a sex show.  Don't ask, just watch!  Jason is going through some stuff and we wonder if he is redeemable.  Each member of the team is starting to show some real personality as they figure out how to take down the Red Hood  and Scarecrow.

Episode 226 - He Hulking Exploded!

Welcome to Episode 226 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

This week we have special guest, Piper Shepard, who does a bit of a deep dive into what shows she geeks out over!  Other than RuPaul's Drag Race, which Piper was way into, we chatted a bunch about American Horror Story and it's many seasons.  So many to watch, and some can cause fatigue as Piper talks about Asylum being the one for her that tested her ability to watch it.  Which season was your favorite?

Then, as we are wont to do, we talk about random things such as Woodstock 99, which was the Fyre Festival of it's time.  It was definitely NO BUENO, from many standpoints.  We jump back to the standards, such as What if...? and Titans.  Check out the What if...? episode that has the Hulk exploding from the inside.  It's pretty gnarly!

Evan Johnson maintains his geek cred by joining us on another episode, and sharing his controversial opinions!  Not only does he give us his thoughts on the age old recliner chair conversation, he also tells us his thoughts on bad Xmen movies.  Are Xmen movies like pizza, where even when they are bad they are still pretty good?

Is retroactive goodwill a thing?  We always talk about Mitch having it, but is it really a thing?  Also, we talk about Michael Keaton films, as he reprised an old role recently, and we discuss our favorite film of his.  What is yours?

Episode 224 - Spidey Supreme

Welcome to Episode 224 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

You're getting M&Ms this week, at least in the form of Matt and Mitch!  Everyone is out on a secret mission so the two M's break down what they are watching.  We start with the What if? show that is on Disney+, in which they take classic Marvel takes and posit how things would be if certain circumstances changed.  For example, in the first episode, what if Peggy Carter took the super serum rather than Steve Rogers?  In a future episode, what if T'Challa was found by Yondu and became Star Lord?  There are ALL kinds of things that could have been in the MCU.  

Titans started their new season with a bang!  Actually, it was a crowbar to the head, repeatedly, but you get the point.  This season will be featuring the Red Hood, and if you read the comics then you have an idea as to what happens in the first couple of episodes.  Nightwing is dealing with a lot and has to work with Jonathan Crane to find a new the Red Hood, and that includes getting him some cannabis to smoke.  It made us wonder what kind of strain Poison Ivy would grow, and would it be heavily poisonous in order for her to get high?

Episode 223 - Spice Bros!

Welcome to Episode 223 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.  This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.

Titans is back, and it comes with a vengeance!  First episode should make fans very happy, as it shows us Red Hood.  On top of that, Bruce Wayne exhibits some un-Bruce Wayne like behavior and it makes us question some things.  A new character, named Tim, is introduced...could it be Tim Drake?  Will we get a new Robin? Time will tell.  

Tell us what you want, what you really, really want...well, specifically which Spice Girl you had a crush on.  We give our choices, as both Jake and Mitch were big fans of the Girls.  Somehow, we make it to spiders and then maybe getting powers from a bite.  Mitch doesn't think his frame could support Spidey powers.  How about you?  Could you not only handle the responsibility, but be able to support the suit and swing around town?  Let us know!
