Wednesday Sep 01, 2021
Welcome to Episode 225 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Evan Johnson maintains his geek cred by joining us on another episode, and sharing his controversial opinions! Not only does he give us his thoughts on the age old recliner chair conversation, he also tells us his thoughts on bad Xmen movies. Are Xmen movies like pizza, where even when they are bad they are still pretty good?
Is retroactive goodwill a thing? We always talk about Mitch having it, but is it really a thing? Also, we talk about Michael Keaton films, as he reprised an old role recently, and we discuss our favorite film of his. What is yours?

Episode 224 - Spidey Supreme

Wednesday Aug 25, 2021
Welcome to Episode 224 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
You're getting M&Ms this week, at least in the form of Matt and Mitch! Everyone is out on a secret mission so the two M's break down what they are watching. We start with the What if? show that is on Disney+, in which they take classic Marvel takes and posit how things would be if certain circumstances changed. For example, in the first episode, what if Peggy Carter took the super serum rather than Steve Rogers? In a future episode, what if T'Challa was found by Yondu and became Star Lord? There are ALL kinds of things that could have been in the MCU.
Titans started their new season with a bang! Actually, it was a crowbar to the head, repeatedly, but you get the point. This season will be featuring the Red Hood, and if you read the comics then you have an idea as to what happens in the first couple of episodes. Nightwing is dealing with a lot and has to work with Jonathan Crane to find a new the Red Hood, and that includes getting him some cannabis to smoke. It made us wonder what kind of strain Poison Ivy would grow, and would it be heavily poisonous in order for her to get high?

Episode 223 - Spice Bros!

Friday Aug 20, 2021
Welcome to Episode 223 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Titans is back, and it comes with a vengeance! First episode should make fans very happy, as it shows us Red Hood. On top of that, Bruce Wayne exhibits some un-Bruce Wayne like behavior and it makes us question some things. A new character, named Tim, is introduced...could it be Tim Drake? Will we get a new Robin? Time will tell.
Tell us what you want, what you really, really want...well, specifically which Spice Girl you had a crush on. We give our choices, as both Jake and Mitch were big fans of the Girls. Somehow, we make it to spiders and then maybe getting powers from a bite. Mitch doesn't think his frame could support Spidey powers. How about you? Could you not only handle the responsibility, but be able to support the suit and swing around town? Let us know!

Welcome to Episode 222 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jake, Matt Orrin and Midnight Mitch Jones) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Jake and Mitch geek out hard over Ninja Turtles news, with a new movie being written. We all take a deep dive into TMNT movies, comics, cartoons and anything else in a half shell! Of course, that forces us to rank them in whatever arbitrary order we deem fit. Michael Bay is involved, and that causes one of us to have a strong opinion. Any guess who?
Hey there, Boo-Boo...Yogi is back on TV with ALL of his Hanna-Barbera buddies. The show is called Jellystone and it features all of your favorite characters, with new voices. It is on HBO Max.

Friday Aug 06, 2021
Welcome to Episode 221 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
COUGAR Nation rejoice! Jay Gillespie, host of COUGAR Nights, and one-third of Ultra Sex Laser joins us as we talk about movie commentary. Jay loves listening to the director's commentary over some of his favorite movies. Why don't more people do that? We think a huge part has to do with streaming services not having the features available, as opposed to using physical media that has those extra features on it and readily accessible. Jay also shares his thoughts on music and prefers to have that media on drives rather than streaming services. Where do you fall on that?
Last we try to connect ALL universes together, starting from the St. Elsewhere continuum. We've touched on this topic before, referencing the snow globe that ties everything together. Does it also connect the MCU and even the M. Night universes? Listen and find out!

Episode 220 - Major Ursa

Monday Aug 02, 2021
Welcome to Episode 220 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
We semi spoiler Black Widow, though not everyone has seen it yet. We talk more about the post credit scene, and the implications for the MCU down the line. HINT - If you watched Falcon & Winter Soldier then you would be pleased. The implications are that the Dark Avengers are on the way! They have the characters set up, so now the ball is in Disney's court to make the right decisions.
We talk about Loki, because it was great, but it also brings up Kang. Though we didn't exactly GET Kang in Loki, we know that he is a variant of him and that Kang as we want him will eventually show up. In fact, he appears in Ant-Man & the Wasp next year and hopefully he messes stuff up!

Episode 219 - Edging Geeks
Wednesday Jul 28, 2021
Wednesday Jul 28, 2021
Welcome to Episode 219 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
We start talking Black Widow but not much because Mitch hadn't seen it yet. Really, we only rated it and it rated well. We teased info that we felt weren't spoilers. Jake bought it on Disney+, which means he "owns" it...as long as he has an active D+ subscription. That seems kind of lame to us, but that's the world we are in. How do you feel about that? It's hard to stay too mad at Disney though because of all the delicious content they release.
We do a small dive into the mid 90's with some of the movies at the time, especially ones that MattO hadn't watched, like Space Jam. Have you seen the new Space Jam movie? This inevitably leads us down a rabbit hole of old cartoons, like Tom & Jerry. Jake and Mitch debate whether Chuck Jones did a better job with T&J than Hanna Barbera. Which is your favorite?

Welcome to Episode 218 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jake, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Loki is still the best thing playing right now and we are still talking about it. This last episode has our "hero" getting pruned. What happened to him? The show is almost done so we will see the big reveal, and we're hoping it's Kang.
Did you TGIF back in the day? We talk about old shows that you might have watched on a Friday night, or any other week night. Shows like Tool Time, or Drew Carey show are highlighted. The Drew Carey show was WAY ahead of its time with a bunch of topics.

Welcome to Episode 217 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Jeff, Mitch, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Loki is still on our minds because we're trying to figure out what this show is up to! Is Sylvie the Entchantress and is this world being manipulated by Loki? Lots happening because there is only 6 episodes and we're halfway there, at this episode. Mitch has a theory about the lighting of this show.
Because of Loki, we start to speculate about the future of the MCU...go figure, right? It makes us wonder who the smartest people in the Marvel U would be, and then will we see any of them in movies? We go over some lists of super smart characters. Is it Doom? Reed Richards? Peter Parker? Listen and find out!

Diving into the Multiverse again, because Loki can set up so much for the MCU if they allow it. And what's with the Sacred Timeline? Who made it sacred, and why aren't the others important? Is this the real Loki, and is the variant also a Loki?
Skynet you say? Well, not yet but Tesla might be making strides towards it and Jeff is all in! He imagines a world where we can drive around and record our podcast while our car drives itself. Think about all the things you can do in a self-driving vehicle. What do we need to get there? WIll 5G enable all of this to become a true reality? Will we be Chauffeured Geeks? Stay tuned!
