Episode 205 - Marvel's Got a Bohner!
Tuesday Mar 23, 2021
Tuesday Mar 23, 2021
Welcome to Episode 205 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
We had a slightly higher level of nostalgia this episode, where we talked about 80's & 90's movies. One in particular was Grease 2, not necessarily a major hit but impactful nonetheless. And it had a young Michelle Pfieffer! This lead us to talk about best sequel, not including Empire. Do you have a pick?
We couldn't go a week without mentioning Marvel, and even Ralph Bohner. We focused on their current direction, specifically with Falcon & the Winter Soldier, now out on Disney+, and how that might end up. Also, how can Sam catch the shield when he throws it? Its made out of Vibranium and he isn't superpowered, like Cap or Bucky. Guess we'll all have to watch and find out!

Welcome to Episode 204 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Wandavision has ended and man, was there a lot to talk about. At least half of this episode was spent discussing the ending, of which was a sensitive topic amongst the Geeks. We were split on the ending; half of us really liked it and the other half was put off by it. Not the show, just the ending. So many questions!! What happens to Vision? Where does Wanda go from here? Will they be together again? All of the inside stuff and fan theories were shot down and put to rest, such as the Pietro from the X-Men movies. What a Bohner!
We continue the talks about MCU stuff, especially the upcoming Thor movie. We also talk Samuel Jackson and his movies. This was a fun episode!

Wednesday Mar 17, 2021
Welcome to Episode 203 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
Another episode, and we are still talking about Gina Carano's release, but now we have more info. We know who she will be replaced with, or at least what character will take more of a spotlight. We spend little time on it though, because with Wandavision there is so much more to talk about! The MCU has a bunch of movies coming out that might ALL be connected. Both Spidey and Dr. Strange are dealing with the multiverse, and Wanda should have a big role in Dr. Strange.
Last, we discuss Burt Reynolds and his movies. Many seem to revolve around a bootlegging theme, or at lest some of his finest works. What's your favorite Burt Reynold's film?

At the time of this recording, another person opened their mouth a little too wide and couldn't get the shoe out. Gina Carano was let go by Disney from her role on the Mandalorian. Is this another example of cancel culture? We talk about it, and potential implications.
Wandavision...am I right?? Pietro shows up, but not the one we thought it would be. Is this setting up something cool for the MCU? When we recorded this, we thought so but nowadays, we aren't too sure. We agree that a Vision/Darcy buddy show would be great!
Last we jump over to WB/DC news, starting with movies and shows that come out of the new The Suicide Squad movie, directed by James Gunn. John Cena has his own show coming out apparently! Are there any ties to the new Batman coming out? Stay tuned to find out!

Friday Feb 26, 2021
Welcome to Episode 201 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things pop culture provided that our DVR’s have space and our streaming accounts are paid up.
This week... while discussing the Netflix series Cobra Kai, the hosts (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin) learn that Jeff was a karate prodigy back in Illinois and had so much prowess that he skipped a belt level! Dude is practically a Ninja Turtle!
We're still a little behind in our weekly WandaVision recap but we start to speculate who in the Marvel Cinematic Universe can help solve the Westview Hex? It could be anyone! Even the Nicolas Cage version of Ghost Rider!
The Snyder Cut of Justice League is imminent!
Also... what's a movie that you can start watching at any point and you just HAVE to watch the rest of it no matter how many times you've seen it before? Mitch says The Blues Brothers, Jeff says Jaws, and Matt says Starship Troopers. We want to hear yours!

Episode 200 - Reminiscent Geeks
Thursday Feb 18, 2021
Thursday Feb 18, 2021
Welcome to Episode 200 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
We reached the arbitrary number 200 of our podcast and so we're calling it quits...what? No way, we just got some momentum going! There is always gonna be stuff to talk about so don't fret. Especially with how much content Disney controls and the amount of Star Wars stuff.
Speaking of Star Wars, we talk about the Mandalorian and boy, what a finale! Did you know who showed up, or did you need to see the green lightsaber? And how about Rosario as Ahsoka, which should be spinning off into its own show. Mitch has lots of theories that he shares with us.
We also talk Wandavision, which started a little slow for some people but definitely picks up, especially at ep 4! Will this show lead into other shows, or even into the bigger MCU and the next phase? Its hard to keep up with all the easter eggs and clues, but rest assured...we'll continue to keep you informed!

Episode 199 - Din and the Fett Man
Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Wednesday Dec 30, 2020
Welcome to Episode 199 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff, Jake and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
We're back! Like really, we're back after a hiatus. All those Disney announcements for Marvel & Star Wars have gotten us off the couch and into our recording chairs. Countless shows and movies coming out in the next 2 years gives us something to look forward to. Wandavision looks to be fun, and we determine that Loki must take place right after his exit, stage left in Avengers.
On the other streaming front, HBOMax is pissing off ALL kinds of people! They decided to release ALL their movies this coming year on their streaming service, as well as theaters if that is still a thing. Wonder Woman getting it started for them on Christmas Day, after months of pushing it back. Will this spell the end for movie theaters?
And in a weird turn, the Geeks get Math-y...or at least Matt Orrin does. Listen to his rant on why he likes common core Math, especially at a young age. Then we go back to talking about Disney because, why not.

Episode 198 - Rest in Power, Chadwick!
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Welcome to Episode 198 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR’s have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others. This week, the Geeks (Mitch, Jeff and Matt Orrin) are virtually together to discuss all things geek.
A sad day is upon us as actor Chadwick Boseman passed from Cancer. Wakanda Forever! He will be missed and this opens up so many questions about one of Marvel's most successful movie franchises. Who will take the mantle of the Panther? Will they recast the role? Should Shuri get it? We'll just have to stay tuned and find out
We talk about Netflix shows, with a bit of a focus on the Social Dilemma. It's a little disconcerting of a watch, though probably pretty important in this day and age of social media. Be careful with your social media, you don't know who is controlling what content you see, read, and post!

Umbrella Academy is back, and we are ALL glad for it. That show rocks! Ellen Page might still be the weakest, acting wise, but her character is much better this season. With some shows ending, its nice to have a show like this enter the scene. The Boys season 2 is also on its way (as of this recording!) and that should also be lauded. Mitch continues to finish all of the Marvel Netflix shows and the end is near for him. He catches us all up, before we switch to everyones favorite heroes in a half shell.

Some great shows have ended, or are ending, both in the sense of the season and also its run. Venture Brothers have finally (and sadly!) met their end, even though we've only gotten 7 seasons in 16 years. That show is super funny and will always be remembered fondly by us. Doom Patrol's season has also ended, and what a weird one that was! Hoping that if the show continues, they do something for Larry's character because he seems to be getting a lame story line.
